The path-breaking Gandhi -Mandela Peace Initiative was launched globally from New Delhi on 11 July 2019. The launch of the Initiative was spearheaded by Kartikeya Sharma, Founder, Sunday Guardian Foundation and iTV Network; Tarina Patel, Founder, Dr Ramanbhai Patel (RBP) Foundation; and Dr Anurag Batra, Founder, Believe Foundation, and Chairman, BW Businessworld.
The Gandhi-Mandela Peace Initiative aims at looking back on the philosophies of Gandhi and Mandela—philosophies, ideas and ideals which were all about accepting change for a better future. The lives of both Gandhi and Mandela had parallels as both were lawyers and both took to the streets to protest against the injustice done to them and their people. Both were committed to the principles of non-violence and compassion. The Gandhi-Mandela Peace Initiative aims at reviving the message of inclusive and sustainable living of Mahatma Gandhi and Nelson Mandela.
